Administration continue due diligence in advancing the Waste to Energy Project in partnership with Greenfield Global Inc. for a 90,000 to 120,000 tonne industrial anaerobic digester built to process organic wastes and convert to renewable natural gas (RNG), with an advance investment of up to $1.3 Million or 40% of the cost to further engineering design and provide greater assurance of final construction cost and viability of the project.

       

    2. Chatham-Kent enter into a contribution agreement with Greenfield Global Inc. prior to the advancement of the funds with final terms of the agreement to be approved by the Director, Legal Services and Chief Financial Officer."

    “That the Municipality of Chatham-Kent supports the recommendations made by AMO that the;

    1. Codes of Conduct should be updated to include workplace safety and harassment policies
    2. Codes of Conduct should have an escalating enforcement mechanism through administrative monetary penalties that recognize local circumstances
    3. Integrity Commissioners should have better, standardized training to improve consistency of decisions across the province

    That our municipality continues to urge the Ontario Government to table and pass legislation to make these changes as soon as possible.

    That Administration be directed based on AMO’s request to set up meetings with our local MPP’s before the AMO Conference in August to request that the Government of Ontario introduce legislation to enact our recommended changes.”

Councillor Anderson noted that the Wheatley Fish Festival is taking place this weekend. She encouraged everyone to come out and support this fun family event.

She also noted that the Wheatley Resource Centre now has a pantry and donations of clothing or household items. Anyone that wants to volunteer or make donations is encouraged to reach out to the Centre.

Councillor Pinsonneault congratulated the organizers of the Thamesville Threshing Festival for another great event.

He also congratulated the Ridgetown Kiwanis Club for celebrating their 75th Anniversary.

Councillor Ceccacci encouraged everyone to come out and attend Art in the Park in Blenheim and the car shows taking place in Blenheim and Erieau.

Councillor C. McGregor encouraged everyone to come out to Wallaceburg this weekend for the Children's Fishing Derby and the cake cutting and children's events taking place at the Wallaceburg Kinsmen Club.

Councillor Storey recognized the volunteers of the Music for the Mind fundraiser for youth mental health services for putting on a great event and raising money for a worthy cause.

Councillor Wright invited everyone to attend Ridgetown's Canada Parade taking place on Thursday night.
