Dr. Shanker Nesathurai was introduced as Chatham-Kent's new Medical Officer of Health.

  • Council recognized the following residents of Chatham-Kent who received awards at the recent Ontario Horticulture convention in Ottawa:
    Donna Matier from the Wheatley Horticultural Society received the Award of Merit in recognition of her work in planning and supervising the installation of the Wheatley Arboretum and Learning Trail.
  • Amelia Dupuis from the Tilbury Horticultural Society received the Honour Roll in recognition for her dedication to the Tilbury Horticultural Society as Treasurer for many years and contact for the Memorial Tree Planting Service at Northside Park, as well as other special projects over the years.
  • Sandra Rammelaerre from the Tilbury Horticultural Society received the Award of Merit in recognition of her long time work in organizing floral design and photography competitions at the local, district and provincial levels as well as being President and District Director for District 11.
  • Linda Henderson from the Tilbury Horticultural Society received the Trillium Award in recognition of long term outstanding service in the areas of grant applications, designing floral displays for Tilbury, supervising various special horticultural projects in town as well as the role of Society Secretary.
  • Miriam Ivison from the Tilbury Horticultural Society received the Silver Medal Award in recognition of long term service in areas of beautification and conservation in the Tilbury area and especially at Northside Park

Council received a overview of the Community Improvement Plan which is a suite of incentives and actions to stimulate high priority developments. The current plan was approved by Council in March of 2020.  The recommended adjustments were reviewed.

Councillor McGrail referenced Item 2(d) - Communication from Jacques Tetreault, Chair of the Chatham-Kent Agri- Development re Dissolution of the Chatham-Kent Agri Development Non- profit Organization and Board of Directors.  She thanked all those that were involved with the group since it start in 1996.

Councillor B. McGregor reminded everyone that this i Truth and Reconciliation Week. A number of events are taking place and you can find them listed on Let's Talk CK.  He encouraged everyone to participate when they can.

Councillor McGrail gave a shout out to the Grade 10 Civics class at Dresden Hight School.  She had the privilege of joining them for a discussion on municipal politics.

Councillor Wright congratulated the Ridge Road Runner Car Club for holding a successful car show that raised $30,000 for the Chatham-Kent Hospice.

Councillor Wright noted that the Highgate Fair is taking place on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. This is the 169th year of the Highgate Fair and he encouraged everyone to attend.

Councillor Pinsonneault Pinsonneault congratulated the Thamesville Sertoma Club for hosting a successful Fall Classic Golf Tournament.
